  • Understanding the CTE Statistics Program

The National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), within the U.S. Department of Education, supports a program to collect and report information on career and technical education (CTE, formerly known as “vocational education”). This webinar will provide an in-depth briefing on NCES’ CTE Statistics program, including a historical overview of the Center’s efforts to collect CTE information, current collection and reporting strategies, and plans for future data collection and reporting. Attendees will learn about strategies to operationally define CTE and CTE participants, the “derived data system” used to produce CTE statistics, and how to access the data and statistics from this system.
