BTS Seeks Nominations for Advisory Council

The Bureau of Transportation Statistics is soliciting nominations to serve on the Advisory Council on Transportation Statistics (ACTS). The ACTS is composed of BTS stakeholders who advise the Director on the quality, reliability, consistency, objectivity, and relevance of transportation statistics and analyses collected, supported, or disseminated by the BTS and DOT.  Nominations for the ACTS must be received on or before January 27, 2012. Census Bureau Releases Findings on American Indian and Alaska Native Population During Forum

The U.S. Census Bureau will release a 2010 Census brief on the American Indian and Alaska Native population at a forum held with the National Museum of the American Indian. This event will highlight statistics from the 2010 Census, providing a portrait of the American Indian and Alaska Native population in the U.S. and its size and growth at various geographic levels. Following a presentation of statistics, an expert panel will address the current social and economic impact of the American Indian and Alaska Native population.
 

 

IPUMS Research Award 2011: Call for Nominations and Submissions

This is the fourth annual award competition for research using the IPUMS microdata collection. Papers or publications submitted should utilize IPUMS-USA, CPS or IPUMS-International, NAPP to study social, economic, and/or demographic processes.
 
Cash prizes will be awarded for:

  • Best published work, and
  • Best work by a graduate student, published or unpublished.

Deadline for nomination or submission: February 15, 2012.
