Census Bureau Seeks APDU Members to Test ACS Data Reliability Indicator

The Census Bureau is currently studying the feasibility of adding a data reliability indicator to American Community Survey (ACS) data products in an effort to help data users more easily identify potential reliability issues with ACS estimates.  As such, the Census Bureau is looking for data users to visit the Census Bureau to participate in a study to assess design options.

The study involves answering basic data questions and conducting tasks using ACS data products, and then providing feedback on design alternatives. The study does not test data user skills. Rather, it provides the Census Bureau with ideas for improving its products.

The testing will occur at the U.S. Census Bureau, located in Suitland, Maryland. The Census Bureau is metro-accessible, and there is also free visitor parking.  Testing will take place from February 1 to February 19, and each session will last about 1 hour.

If you are interested in participating in this study, please contact Temika Holland (Temika.Holland@census.gov) or 301-763-5241 by January 20, 2010. The Census Bureau greatly appreciates APDU members’ interest.
