Upcoming Briefing: "Surveying for Dollars"

    The Annie E. Casey Foundation is sponsoring a briefing to unveil a new Brookings Institution report, “Surveying for Dollars.” The report, authored by APDU President, Andrew Reamer, finds that the American Community Survey (ACS), which was implemented after Census 2000 to replace the decennial census long form, guided the geographic distribution of $416 billion by 184 federal programs in FY2008—over a quarter of all federal assistance. APDU is co-sponsoring this event designed to provide insights to Congress on the importance of the ACS as a resources for guiding federal investments.

Over the last several weeks, calls for comment on the following proposed data collections were published in the Federal Register (with due date)
