2010 KIDS COUNT Data Book Now Available
 
APDU is pleased to join the Annie E. Casey Foundation as a 2010 KIDS COUNT Data Book Outreach Partner. The annual Data Book is a comprehensive resource on the status of U.S. children, featuring state-specific data on ten key indicators of child well-being. Please visit the online Data Center (http://datacenter.kidscount.org/databook), to download the report and create maps, graphs, and charts at the national, state, and local level.

APDU 2010 Annual Conference
“Public Data 2010: Opportunities and Challenges for the New Decade”

The Association of Public Data Users (APDU) will convene to examine the most critical opportunities and challenges facing the data user community at its Annual Conference on September 20th & 21st, 2010 in Washington, DC.  The conference will feature demographic, economic, and other data topics designed to assess new approaches to improving data collection and access.  The conference features a review of lessons learned from the 2010 Census, efforts to improve the American poverty index, the status of the American Community Survey, opportunities to enhance population estimation, initiatives to measure the green economy, and emerging tools for monitoring employment dynamics.

FY2011 appropriations bills for Commerce, HUD, and DOT have been approved by House and Senate committees
