APDU Co-Sponsors World Statistics Day Briefing on Capitol Hill

On October 20, the American Academy of Political and Social Science and a U.S. organizing committee hosted a briefing on Capitol Hill to celebrate World Statistics Day, as designated by the UN. U.S. Chief Statistician Katherine Wallman moderated a series of brief talks by current U.S. Census Bureau Director Dr. Robert Groves, former director Dr. Kenneth Prewitt and Bureau of Economic Analysis Director Steve Landefeld. APDU is proud to be one of a number of co-sponsors.

In conjunction with WSD, the September issue of the Annals of the Academy of Political and Social Science, “The Federal Statistical System: Its Vulnerability Matters More Than You Think,” offers a number of on-line articles of interest to APDU members. Also in honor of WSD, the American Statistical Association has put together a website with links to a number of videos of talks by distinguished U.S. statisticians.
