President Obama Unveils FY 2013 Budget Proposal

President Obama announced his FY 2013 Budget proposal this week.  According to the White House, the Budget proposes more than $350 billion for short-term job growth efforts.  These proposals include the extension of the payroll tax cut and unemployment insurance benefits for the rest of 2012; an upfront investment of $50 billion from the surface transportation reauthorization bill for roads, rails, and runways; continuing to allow businesses to write-off the full amount of new investments; $30 billion to modernize at least 35,000 schools; and $30 billion to help states and localities retain and hire teachers and first responders.

The National Center for Special Education Research (NCSER) in the Institute of Education Sciences (IES) of the U.S. Department of Education announces a Summer Research Training Institute on Single-Case Intervention Research Design and Analysis.  The purpose of the Training Institute is to increase the national capacity of education researchers to conduct methodologically rigorous single-case intervention studies.
