House Subcommittee on Health Care, District of Columbia, Census, and the National Archives to Hold Hearing on ACS Voluntary Response Option

On Tuesday, March 6 at 9:30 AM, the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, Subcommittee on Health Care, District of Columbia, Census, and the National Archives, will hold a hearing on H.R. 931, a bill to make participation in the American Community Survey voluntary.  Rep. Ted Poe (R-TX) is the bill’s sponsor.

Organizations interested in providing feedback on the proposed bill should direct written comments to Yvette Cravins, staff to subcommittee ranking member Rep. Danny Davis (D-IL), and John Cuaderes, staff to Chairman Trey Gowdy (R-SC), for the official hearing record no later than Monday, March 5.

House Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies Seeks Testimony on FY2013 Budget

The House Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies will be holding a member and outside witness hearing on Thursday, March 22, 2012 on the Fiscal Year 2013 budget.  Those unable to attend are invited to submit testimony for the record.  Learn more here.
 

 

GAO Issues Report on Cost Control for the 2020 Census

The Government Accountability Office recently issued the report Decennial Census:  Additional Actions Could Improve the Census Bureau’s Ability to Control Costs for the 2020 Census.  The report emphasizes the development of methods to identify and address specific factors that contribute to cost increases.

Innovative Data Sources for Regional Economic Analysis
