Request for Input on Key ACS Issues and Data User Needs The Population Reference Bureau (PRB) and Sabre Systems created a brief survey to collect input from ACS Data Users Group members regarding key ACS issues and data user needs. Results from this survey will be presented in a Plenary Session on May 13 at the upcoming 2015 ACS Data Users Conference. This survey provides a unique opportunity for Data Users Group members to share collective feedback about ACS data issues and user needs with Census Bureau staff and other conference attendees. Please respond by April 20, 2015.

BLS Blog Post on National Longitudinal Surveys It?s especially timely to talk about these surveys for two reasons: 1) BLS published a news release this week with the latest data from one of the surveys, and 2) the program is one of the important legacies of former BLS Commissioner Janet Norwood, who passed away recently. It also can become serious, dangerous and potentially costly if it happens to a disc containing criminal forensic evidence, corporate records or scientific data. R&D Recognized as Investment in U.S. GDP Statistics Expenditures for research and development are now capitalized?incorporated as investment?in the U.S. gross domestic product (GDP) and other national income and product accounts (NIPAs) produced and published by the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA). R&D investment is presented in the NIPAs in a new asset category called “intellectual property products,” or intangible assets, along with software and entertainment, literary, and artistic originals.
