Housing and Urban Development and Census Bureau Expand Access to Detailed Information on Nation’s Housing
Nearly 20 percent of recent movers identified “convenience to job” as the most important factor in their choice of neighborhood in 2011, according to the American Housing Survey, the definitive source of information on the quality of housing in the United States. For the first time ever, the U.S. Census Bureau and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development have made survey results available on the Census Bureau’s American FactFinder data access tool. O*NET Greening References Updated
The Greening of the World of Work: O*NET Project’s Book of References update adds additional green references to those compiled from an initial research report on the green economy. Ongoing green activities, such as data collection on occupational and worker requirements for green occupations, and continuous green economy research, contributed to this winter’s update. Census Bureau to Complete Regional Office Realignment
The U.S Census Bureau’s 18-month agenda to realign its field offices across the nation for the first time in 50 years will be completed by January 2013. The restructuring, announced on June 29, 2011, closes regional offices in Boston, Charlotte, Dallas, Detroit, Kansas City and Seattle. Read the full release here.
